Our holiday cottage to rent is less than 1 mile away from the Royal Sandirngham estate. For walkers and birdwatchers there is also the Hunstanton (7 M) coast and the Titchwell RSPB bird reserve (15 M)

Text courtesy of RSPB website : This wetland nature reserve is situated on the beautiful north Norfolk coast. A walk from the visitor centre down to the sandy beach takes you past reedbeds and shallow lagoons, each managed specially for birds. In the summer, marsh harriers can be seen hunting over the reeds.

Winter sees the arrival of many birds, such as ducks and geese. The well-stocked shop has a wide range of optical equipment, RSPB gifts, books, souvenirs and outdoor clothing. The three hides and the paths are suitable for those in wheelchairs. There is a servery with covered eating area that sells drinks and snacks.

There is also an RSPB reserve at Snettisham RSPB reserve, just 4 miles away, and also bird reserves / wildlife sanctuaries at Holkham and Cley nearby

Hunstanton Seaside - including Old Hunstanton's golden beach

Dersingham is only 7 miles away from the seaside town of Hunstanton. In Hunstanton the visitor has the choice of a quiet walk on the Old Hunstanton beach, or under the unique Hunstanton cliffs, or the busy South side with the amusements, ten pin bowling at Bowlers and all the fun of the fun fair.

Hunstanton, Heacham and Snettisham are the only sea town on the East coast of England that can watch the sun go down in the Sea, over the Wash towards Swegness.

Hunstanton has everything you expect to find in a Seaside town including donkey rides, great fish and chips, loads of shops and a good choice of pubs and places to eat.

Built in the local carrstone in the 19th century, and now set in its garden of lavender, roses and herbs, it has become a distinctive Norfolk landmark. In the grounds, we also have a National Collection of Lavenders. Each variety or species has its own bed. There are over 100 different lavenders to see and smell"
